FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

General questions about how our subscriptions, leases and short-term hire work. For questions specific to a service, visit that service's own page.

Do you require a credit check?+

Yes, all applications go through a credit check. This is required for anti-money laundering and FCA compliance purposes.

Is insurance included?+

No — fully comprehensive insurance is required on every vehicle and is arranged separately. See our Insurance page to compare quotes.

What is a documentation fee?+

Documentation fees start from £295.00 plus VAT (£354.00 inc. VAT) and vary by vehicle and funder — the exact fee is shown on each vehicle's listing.

Are deposits refundable?+

Where a deposit is required, it is refundable, subject to status, and set by our underwriters as part of the credit checking process.

Can I choose Plus VAT or Inc. VAT pricing?+

Yes — every vehicle listing includes a toggle to switch between plus VAT and inc. VAT pricing. Business customers typically view plus VAT prices; personal customers typically view inc. VAT prices.

Car Subscriptions: What's included in a car subscription?+

Your monthly payment covers the vehicle rental, scheduled maintenance and servicing, the road fund licence, the manufacturer's warranty and breakdown assistance. You'll need to arrange your own fully comprehensive insurance and pay for fuel or electricity.

Car Subscriptions: How long can I keep the car?+

You can subscribe for as little as one month, though our best rates apply from 3 months onwards. You can keep the vehicle until it reaches 3 years old — there are no forced mid-term swaps.

Flexible Car Leasing: How is flexible leasing different from a car subscription?+

Both are flexible by design, but flexible leasing is typically structured around a slightly longer minimum term than a subscription, while still avoiding the rigid small print of a traditional fixed lease.

Flexible Car Leasing: What's included in the price?+

Rental, maintenance and servicing, road tax, manufacturer warranty and breakdown assistance. You'll need your own fully comprehensive insurance and to cover fuel or electricity.

Short-Term Car Leases: Can I extend a short-term lease?+

Some short-term contracts can be extended subject to availability, but certain fixed contracts cannot — it's important to be confident in your required term before applying.

Short-Term Car Leases: What's included as standard?+

Vehicle rental, the manufacturer's breakdown assistance and road tax are all included. Maintenance and servicing are optional extras you can add if required.

Long-Term Car Hire: How is long-term hire different from a subscription?+

Long-term hire is a traditional fixed lease over 2, 3 or 4 years, giving you the lowest possible monthly cost in exchange for a longer commitment. Subscriptions trade a slightly higher monthly cost for much greater flexibility.

Long-Term Car Hire: Do you only use one funder?+

No — we search across more than 12 different funders, including manufacturer-backed finance, to find you the strongest available deal.

Van Subscriptions: What's included in a van subscription?+

Rental, maintenance and servicing, road tax, the manufacturer's warranty and breakdown assistance. You'll need your own fully comprehensive insurance and to cover fuel or electricity.

Van Subscriptions: Can I subscribe to more than one van?+

Yes — many of our business customers run several vans on subscription at once, scaling the fleet up or down as needed.

Long-Term Van Hire: What contract lengths are available?+

Long-term van hire is typically available on 2, 3 or 4 year contracts, matched to your business's needs.

Long-Term Van Hire: Can I mix vehicle types across my fleet?+

Yes — many businesses combine panel vans, crew vans and larger commercials within a single fleet agreement.

Short-Term Van Leases: What contract lengths are available?+

Short-term van leases are typically offered on fixed 6 or 12 month contracts.

Short-Term Van Leases: Can I extend my contract?+

Some contracts can be extended subject to availability, but not all fixed agreements allow this — please confirm your required term with our team before applying.

Salary Sacrifice: Is salary sacrifice only for electric cars?+

No, but EVs are especially popular on salary sacrifice thanks to their low Benefit-in-Kind tax rates, which maximise the overall saving.

Salary Sacrifice: Who sets up the scheme?+

Our dedicated salary sacrifice platform, in partnership with Cocoon Vehicles, supports employers through scheme set-up and ongoing administration.

Expat Car Leasing and Subscriptions: Do I need a UK credit history?+

No — that's the whole point of this service. You will still go through a standard credit check as part of our FCA compliance obligations, but a lack of UK credit history won't automatically rule you out.

Expat Car Leasing and Subscriptions: What do I need to apply?+

You'll need a UK residential address and proof of UK income. This service isn't suitable for short UK travel or leisure hire.

Leasing for New Start-up Businesses: Do I need 3 years of trading accounts?+

No — this service is specifically designed for businesses that don't yet have that level of trading history.

Leasing for New Start-up Businesses: Will I need a personal guarantee?+

Some applications for newer businesses may require a director's personal guarantee, depending on the funder and the vehicle requested.

Leasing for Businesses with Overseas Directors: Does my company need to be UK-registered?+

Yes, this route is designed for companies that are properly registered and operating within the UK, even where the director or directors are based overseas.

Leasing for Businesses with Overseas Directors: What documentation will be needed?+

Typically company registration documents, director identification, and evidence of the company's UK trading activity — our specialist partner will confirm exact requirements for your case.

Leasing for Businesses with Overseas Parent Company or Shareholders: Does my UK company need to be a subsidiary of an overseas group?+

This route is designed for UK-registered businesses with an overseas parent company or significant overseas shareholders — get in touch and our team will confirm whether it's the right fit.

Leasing for Businesses with Overseas Parent Company or Shareholders: What documentation is needed?+

Typically UK company registration documents, group/shareholder structure information, and evidence of UK trading — our specialist partner will confirm exact requirements.

Business Leasing and Rental Solutions: Can you manage a mixed fleet of cars and vans?+

Yes — we regularly support businesses running a combination of cars, vans and specialist vehicles under one account.

Business Leasing and Rental Solutions: Do you only offer long-term contracts?+

No, we offer flexible subscriptions and short-term leases alongside traditional long-term contract hire, so your fleet can flex as your business changes.

Non-Status Leasing: What does “non-status” mean?+

It means having little or no credit history on record in the UK — it does not mean adverse or bad credit.

Non-Status Leasing: Can I apply if I have CCJs or bad credit?+

No. Non-status leasing is not suitable for customers with bad credit, County Court Judgments (CCJs), or other adverse credit history.
